Ammonia Phase Equilibrium and Partitioning

Equilibrium fractions of NH3/NH4+ in water vary with pH and temperature.
The chart plots this variation at 20 C.

Henry's Law states that for ideal dilute solutions the ratio of the ammonia gas mole fractions in the vapour and liquid phase is a constant for any given temperature.

SpiraFlow Media permits AmRHEX to exploit ammonia physical chemistry and avoid excessive alkaline addition, sludge creation, and post stripping pH adjustment encountered with conventional methods. Test Results For a 5 Stage, Low Temperature AmRHEX Treating 5000 L/day
Operating Principles, Features & Test ResultsEffective ammonia removal has been demonstrated using ersatz wastewater over a wide concentration range with discharge pH in the safe release range. Successfull tests at scale on residential toilet wastes as well as digester liquors have been completed. Full scale demonstration results will be posted as they become available

AmRhex for aerial ammonia removal utilizes a recovery reactor facilitating the contact of the ammonia gas with a proprietary acidic solution which reacts with the ammonia to create a useable fertilizer.

AmRhex for aquatic removal is a two stage processor composed of a wastewater scrubbing section coupled with a recovery reactor similar to that employed in the aerial model.
